Grace Hotels set to open in Marrakech

The award winning luxury boutique hotel chain Grace Hotels has set its foot in North Africa. The Grace Marrakech is due to take the place of the old Terres M’Barka, near the village of Tamesloht, just 22 kilometers south west of Marrakech.

“We are very excited to announce the latest addition to the Grace portfolio (…) The blend of traditional design with contemporary touches which dominates Les Terres M’Barka perfectly complements our existing portfolio of boutique hotels,” said Philippe Requin, chief executive of Grace Hotels.

The hotel will be a getaway for those wishing to enjoy the tranquility of Moroccan landscapes with the buzzing life of the city not far away. The Atlas Mountains offer a quiet retreat for hikers, horseback-riders and mountain bikers alike. While only a 30-minute drive away, city-goers can take in the beauty of the dazzling souks, the mystery of the snake-charmers and thrills of the magicians. A visit to the 19th century Bahia palace or to the Djemaa El Fna Square in Marrakech’s medina quarter – the old city – is not likely to disappoint any traveler either.

Those wishing to stay multiple nights can easily find activities to fill up their time. A day trip to the town of Essauira is overlooking a stunning coastline and the 3000-year old town harbors a remarkable fishing port. The relaxing atmosphere and stunning scenery draws artists from all walks of life to visit for inspiration.

Guests arriving with cars or private jets are all welcome. The hotel’s helipad receives those who wish to arrive in style. Most of the 15 suites, all decorated with Moroccan and worldly crafts, have a terrace or balcony overlooking the beautiful scenery. Some are even leased with a private chef if the guests prefer the latter to the Moroccan or Mediterranean dishes on offer in the restaurant Les Terres M'Barka.

Grace Marrakech will officially start welcoming guests in late 2013.

“We look forward to bringing the Grace philosophy of elegance and simplicity to this beautiful property in one of the most sought after destinations in North Africa,” concluded Mr Requin.
