Food crisis

Ten million Yemenis, of a population of around 25 million, are undernourished and do not have reliable access to food. Five million of them require emergency food aid, though less than half of the UN pledged $70 million has been donated since the beginning of the year. It is a common sight to see men, women and children sleeping on the street and begging for food. Most Yemenis are generous, but their pockets are not deep.
