US Middle East negotiator Indyk resigns

Martin Indyk, the chief US negotiator between the Israelis and Palestinians, resigned Friday after the collapse of peace talks.

Secretary of State John Kerry, announcing the resignation in a statement through a spokeswoman, said Indyk would return to his position at the Brookings Institution think tank.
