Tunisia arrests Kadhafi loyalist over planned attacks

Tunisia arrested a member of Libya's pro-Kadhafi forces in the southeast of the country for planning attacks on Libyan refugees and rebel supporters, a public radio station said Sunday.

The man recruited and trained Tunisian nationals from the southeast to attack food and fuel convoys headed to Libya, Radio Tataouine reported, adding that more arrests were ongoing.

The suspect was detained late Saturday.

The Tunisian defence ministry said Monday that a Libyan army officer sent by Moamer Kadhafi to Tunis to bomb an Arab embassy had turned himself in to Tunisian authorities.

About 70,000 Libyans have fled to Tunisia since the start in February of the Libyan uprising against Kadhafi's 42-year rule.
