Syrian refugee crisis worst since Rwanda genocide

The Syrian refugee crisis is now the worst since the Rwandan genocide with nearly 1.8 million people registered in countries around Syria, UN refugee chief Antonio Guteres said Tuesday.

Guterres and UN humanitarian chief Valerie Amos appealed to the UN Security Council for greater international action to alleviate suffering in Syria and for refugees in neighboring countries.
