Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem on Tuesday accused Turkey of undermining the peace plan of UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan by helping Syria's rebels smuggle arms and cross the border.

"Turkey hosts Syrian armed groups, has built training camps for them, lets them illegally cross into Syria and smuggle arms (to Syria) across its territory," Muallem said in a press conference with Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.
"How can this (implementation of the Annan plan) be done while smuggling of arms and armed militants from Turkey is still going on?" he added.
His comments came after shots were fired from Syria at a Syrian refugee camp inside Turkey in what Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan described as a "clear violation" of the common border between the two countries.
