Loud blast in Tel Aviv, sirens wailing

A rocket fired from Gaza on Friday crashed into the sea off Tel Aviv in the second incident in as many days, police and an eyewitness told AFP, shortly after sirens wailed across the city.

"We believe it landed off the shores of Tel Aviv," police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told AFP, as an eyewitness told AFP he saw a rocket hit the sea "some 200 metres (yards)" from the beachfront US embassy, sparking panic among beachgoers.
