At least five people were hurt as gunfire raked an Israeli bus near the border with Egypt, close to the Red Sea resort town of Eilat, Israeli security sources and medics said.
Security sources told AFP the gunfire appeared to come from Egypt's side of the border and hit a bus travelling on route 12 which links Eilat with the rest of Israel.

"We're talking about a shooting attack with five injured," Eli Bin, spokesman for the Israeli emergency services, told army radio.
Medics said the wounded people were hit in the legs, with four of them lightly wounded and one described as in moderate condition.
Security sources said the attack was carried out by an unknown number of gunmen, who opened fire on bus 392 on route 12, which runs parallel to the Egyptian border.
It was not immediately clear if the gunmen were shooting from the Israeli side of the border or the Egyptian side, they said.
