Five Al-Qaeda suspects killed by drone in Yemen

A US drone killed five suspected Al-Qaeda militants in the Yemeni province of Shabwah on Tuesday, when two missiles pulverised the car they were travelling in, tribal sources said.

The attack took place on the road between the town of Bihan and Assilan, in the southwestern province to which Al-Qaeda elements have fled after being driven out of neighbouring Abyan province by government forces.

Last month, Yemeni troops recaptured a string of Al-Qaeda strongholds across the troubled south and east where the militants had seized control last year.
