Egypt to announce results of constitutional referendum

The turnout in Egypt's constitutional referendum "reached 38.6 percent," higher than that in a 2012 referendum under ousted president Mohamed Morsi, the electoral chief said at a press conference on Saturday.

The military-installed authorities had looked for a high turnout as a popular endorsement of the July overthrow of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi.
