In 2011, the world's perception of social media changed. The power of Facebook, Twitter and other social platforms certainly didn't come as a surprise to anyone, but the notion that they could help topple regimes and transform the political map of the Middle East baffled most commentators. But, is it that simple? Isn't there a chance that we in fact exaggerated the role of social media in all this?
